Turn design references into a website brief

AI site builders, animation galleries, Figma templates and the fonts behind famous logos. Here are all ten links, plus a prompt that turns what you find into a brief an AI builder can follow.

Context & limitations

Some of these are free and some are paid, so check before you sign up. Use them for ideas, not copies, and the prompt below turns your favourites into a clear brief.

Do this yourself

I'm building a website for ___ (what it is and who it's for). I've collected these design references: ___ (paste links or screenshots, and say what I like about each one). Ask me one question at a time (up to 4): my goal for the site, the feeling I want (for example calm, bold, playful), the pages I need, and anything I already have like a logo, colours or fonts. Then write me a design brief I can paste into an AI website builder or give to a designer. Include: 1. Layout: the sections of the homepage, in order, with one line each. 2. Style: colours (with hex codes), type (a heading font and a body font that are free to use), and spacing. 3. Motion: two or three subtle animations and exactly where they go. Keep them light so the page stays fast. 4. What to borrow from each reference, and what to avoid copying. Don't copy anyone's design, logo or text. Check each font's licence before suggesting it, and keep everything readable on a phone.

Good references beat vague instructions. When you show an AI builder exactly which layout, motion and type you like, and say why, you get something that looks designed instead of generic.
