Turn AI into your daily language tutor

A daily lesson, a speaking partner and a weekly review. Three prompts that turn the AI app you already have into a language tutor.

🗣️ Stop paying for language apps. Here's how to learn a language with AI.

  • 📈 A post saying AI taught someone French in 33 days just passed 1.9 million views on X: x.com/Nona_xai/status/2117747868543115322
  • 📘 Prompt 1, your daily lesson: tell the AI your level, your goal and how much time you have, and ask for one short lesson a day built around things you'd actually say.
  • 🎙️ Prompt 2, your speaking partner: turn on voice mode and chat in your new language, with only your biggest mistake corrected each time so you don't get overwhelmed.
  • 🔁 Prompt 3, your weekly review: get quizzed on everything you got wrong, with the words you keep forgetting coming back until you get them right.

Context & limitations

Results depend on how often you practise, so treat "33 days" as one person's story, not a promise. The prompt below puts all three modes into one tutor you can use every day.

Do this yourself

Be my personal language tutor for ___ (language). Before we start, ask me one question at a time: 1. My current level (complete beginner, can get by, or conversational). 2. Why I'm learning it (travel, work, family, moving abroad). 3. How much time I have each day (for example 15 minutes). Then run three modes. I'll tell you which one I want each day. DAILY LESSON: Give me one short lesson that fits my time, built around something I'd actually say, like ordering food, introducing myself or talking about my job. Teach 5 to 8 useful words or phrases, show each one in a real sentence, then give me 3 quick exercises and wait for my answers. SPEAKING PARTNER: Have a conversation with me in ___ (language), slowly, like a friendly local, using mostly words from my lessons. After each of my replies, correct only my biggest mistake in one line, then keep the conversation going. If I'm using voice mode, keep your replies short. WEEKLY REVIEW: Quiz me on every word, phrase and mistake I got wrong this week, one question at a time. Bring back the ones I miss until I get them right twice in a row, then give me a short list of what I still need to practise. Keep a running list of my mistakes so the weekly review is based on them. Don't move on to harder material until I'm getting most answers right.

Short daily lessons built around real situations, speaking practice with gentle correction, and reviewing what you got wrong are what make a language stick. ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini can all do this, and voice mode lets you practise speaking out loud.
