Choose Gladys, Aunty Rose, Edna or Queenie, each with her own powers, and let her loose on London. Then design a mission of your own.

👵 Grand Theft Auto, but your gran's in charge.

  • 🧓 Pick your gran (Gladys, Aunty Rose, Edna or Queenie), each with her own powers, then let her loose on London: Camden, Big Ben, the London Eye.
  • ☂️ Weapons? A custard tart, a brolly, false teeth… and a few much louder options.
  • 🛵 Nick a scooter, outrun the police helicopters and don't miss bingo.
  • 👯 Play solo or with friends: grandmatheftauto.com/
  • 🎮 The first video and its feature-pitch prompt: Grandma Theft Auto is absolutely unhinged

Context & limitations

The creator is collecting mission ideas to add to the game. The prompt below turns yours into a mission they could actually build.

Do this yourself

Help me design a mission for Grandma Theft Auto (https://grandmatheftauto.com/), a free browser game set in London where you play a chaos-causing gran. My gran is ___ (Gladys, Aunty Rose, Edna or Queenie) and my mission idea is ___ . First, look at the live game if you can, and tell me which characters, places and features you can actually see. Keep those separate from my idea. If you can't open it, say so and work from my description. Then write the mission: 1. A funny mission title and a one-line briefing in the gran's voice. 2. Where in London it happens (for example Camden, Big Ben or the London Eye). 3. The goal, three gameplay beats, and how the player fails. 4. How my gran's special power changes the way the mission plays. 5. One everyday item she uses in a silly way (a brolly, a custard tart, her false teeth). 6. How it could work in co-op with friends. 7. Effort to build: low, medium or high, with one sentence explaining why. Keep it light-hearted and cartoonish, with nothing graphic. Don't copy missions or characters from Grand Theft Auto or other games. Finish with a two-sentence version I could share with the creator.

A mission written as goal, beats and a fail state is much easier for a game developer to build than a one-line idea.
